ISACA is a community of learners. Whether it is learning how to integrate new technologies into their work, how to combat evolving security threats or how to ace a certification exam, the quest for knowledge is continual.

I have aimed to take a similar approach to my first 50 days on the job as ISACA CEO. I’ve spent my time studying, listening and preparing, and will continue doing so to gain a deeper understanding of how I can best work with all of you to make this proud association as great as it can be.

Here are a few of my initial thoughts: Members are the nucleus of our universe, and our priorities must connect back to what our current and future members and certification-holders need from us. We want to be a valued partner for you at every stage of your career – from the training we provide, to the credentials that validate your skills and knowledge, to the local and global network you can access with ISACA, we want to be there every step of the way to help your career and your organizations thrive.

We are known around the world for our industry-leading credentials, the CMMI performance solution model, the COBIT governance framework, and more. That is an excellent foundation on which to build.

But more than any of our impressive acronyms, it is the people in our global network who are our greatest strength. I am inspired by the incredible connection and community among the ISACA membership. That quickly became apparent with so many members reaching out to connect on LinkedIn and welcome me to the organization, and with several ISACA chapters reaching out for various opportunities to interact with them. It’s special when a group of people is this enthusiastic, engaged and connected. Having previously led several other organizations, the passion that this community has for being part of ISACA stands out.

I also am energized by the time I’ve spent getting to know the ISACA staff team and seeing a great combination of experience and receptiveness to new ideas. Most of all, our staff is deeply committed to supporting our members.

Together, we have a lot of work to do. The pace of adoption of new technologies today is unprecedented, and artificial intelligence in particular is coming on faster than any technology I’ve ever seen. AI is changing the way organizations operate, and it is incumbent on us to share the guidance and expertise our members and customers need to successfully navigate this dynamic new landscape.

There are a lot of great days ahead for ISACA. I look forward to working with our chapter community, our members, our enterprise partners, our staff and our board of directors to determine how our community, collectively, can be most impactful going forward.
