Recognized by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) with a 2020 Power of a Gold Award for its global impact, CommunITy Day encourages ISACA® members and their families to take action in their local communities while ISACA measures the positive effect created globally. The second annual CommunITy Day event is scheduled to take place on 3 October 2020.
The circumstances of the past several months have presented many challenges for individuals around the world, personally and professionally, yet the ISACA community remains strong, connected and active. CommunITy Day enables participants to help local communities and, through individual efforts, make a collective difference. Activities can be completed in smaller groups, outdoors or individually this year, but there are many ways members can improve the world together–even while remaining physically distant.
Many ISACA chapters have already organized activities and are still welcoming participants who wish to sign up. Starting in New Zealand and ending in the US State of Hawaii, activities include cause-based awareness walks or bike rides, tree planting, food pantry stocking, cyber skills training for the general public and much more. To learn more about what was accomplished in 2019, visit the CommunITy Day Impact page of the ISACA website.
Most activities are open to families and friends as well. Your health and safety is ISACA’s first priority, so all CommunITy Day activities should take local guidelines from government and health officials under advisement. Learn more about possible activities and how to volunteer in the era of COVID-19 by visiting the CommunITy Day Admin Tools page of the ISACA website.
Participants are asked to log all CommunITy Day activities in the Helper Helper tool used to track ISACA’s global statistics. Visit the Volunteer Sign Up page of the Helper Helper website to create a free profile, sign up for a volunteer activity and log volunteer hours. On 3 October, watch as social media posts roll in from around the world using the hashtag #ISACACommunITyDay.
