Refining IT governance systems can be invaluable to organizations throughout today’s ever-changing, highly disruptive business environments. Identifying the differences between governance and management and using principles found in COBIT® and Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT® (CGEIT®) for effective governance adoption helps create positive change at the organizational level.

Although they are highly effective governance tools, there is more to effective governance adoption than frameworks, training and certifications. An enterprise’s most valuable resource is its people. By taking advantage of the strengths, knowledge and abilities of its people, enterprises can achieve effective transformation to more dynamic governance. A tailored governance approach with clearly defined traditional and emerging roles can help mitigate the effects of the next business disruption.

To provide further insight into the power of governance frameworks and roles, APMG International and ISACA® will host the “Demystifying IT Governance Roles in a DynamicBusiness Environment” webinar on 29 October at 9AM CDT (UTC -5 hours). Governance, risk and compliance (GRC) expert Mark Thomas will explore common governance scenarios and explain how COBIT and CGEIT can enable practitioners to make decisions that will benefit the enterprise. ISACA members who attend will earn 1 continuing professional education (CPE) hour for participating in the event.
